On Friday, June 4, 2010, Chuck and Janey received a call to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We will serve for a period of 18 months in the Kentucky Louisville Mission. We will go to the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, on June 28 for five days of orientation and training. We will fly back home on July 3 and drive our car to the mission home. We are to meet our Mission President in Louisville on July 5. On July 6, we will drive to Tell City, Indiana. It is anticipated that we will spend 18 months there.
The purpose of our mission service is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.
It is a great blessing and honor to have this opportunity to share our testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Many blessings have come to us and our family and we want to show our gratitude by doing the Lord's work. Leaving the security of our home, friends, and family is quite frightning, but it feels like the right thing to do.
